Hootie and the Blowfish have officially returned! The band will reunite for a massive N American bout side by side summer, they announced today.

In an appearance on Today, the Grammy-winning group confirmed that they are working on a new album to accompany their upcoming tour, dubbed the Group Therapy Bout. They will kick off the trek May 30 in Virginia Beach and hitting over xl cities over a three month span before wrapping with a hometown show in Columbia, South Carolina on September xiii. Notable stops include the Hollywood Bowl and Madison Square Garden. Pop/rockers Barenaked Ladies are joining the road in support.

In addition to their triumphant render to recording and touring, the band will also celebrate another major milestone in 2019: the 25th anniversary of their debut album. Their start LP Cracked Rear View launched the band into the mainstream and shot to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 200 chart. Bolstered past the success of singles "Allow Her Weep," "Concur My Paw" and "Just Wanna Exist With You," it is i of the acknowledged albums of all time in the U.South., achieving elite multi-Diamond certification (21x Platinum) by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Hootie and the Blowfish – comprised of frontman Darius Rucker, guitarist Mark Bryan, bassist Dean Felber and drummer Jim Sonefeld – went on hiatus in 2008, although they would brand special appearances throughout the last decade, often at charity shows. In that time, Rucker transitioned into a successful solo country artist with half dozen albums and ix No. 1 singles to his name.
